The most widely used hive for honey production throughout the world. The hive was invented by the Revd. L.L. Langstroth and is the oldest moveable comb hive in use today.
The outside dimensions of this top bee space hive are
16 1/4″ x 20″. The comb area with the normal 9 1/8″ deep frames in the brood chamber is 2,720 square inches, which is equivalent to approximately 61,400 worker cells.
